An Anaheim Ducks film for Visit Anaheim, concept to 456,000 views.
For Visit Anaheim’s Imaginagency campaign, Swimm conceptualized, directed, shot and edited a film starring Imaginagent Tynka Gudas, her dad, then Ducks captain Radko Gudas, and Wild Wing. It launched a charity auction with the Anaheim Ducks and the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, and it has been viewed more than 456,000 times.

The engagement.
Visit Anaheim’s Imaginagency is a campaign built on one idea: when kids lead the way, big things happen. To launch a Ducks charity auction under that banner, they needed a film that four organizations could all put their name on, and that would feel like a kid’s story rather than a sponsor announcement. Swimm took it from concept to final cut: the idea, the direction, the camera and the edit.
Challenges identified.
Four partners, one film. Visit Anaheim, the Anaheim Ducks, the Anaheim Ducks Foundation and Wild Wing each had a brand to protect and a reason to be there, and every one of them had to see themselves in the final cut.
An NHL captain’s calendar and a kid’s attention span. There was one window to get everything, in the team store, the locker room and the plaza at Honda Center, with no reshoot.
The auction had real prizes and a real deadline, five days of bidding, so the film had to land the offer clearly while still feeling like something people would watch for fun and share.
In their words
“Sidney is great to work with. From start to finish, it was a seamless process and the end product turned out great. We will definitely work with him again.”

The strategic approach.
01
The concept: let the kid run it
Tynka is the Imaginagent. Her dad and Wild Wing are the talent she has to wrangle. That reversal gave the film its engine: a kid directing a Ducks captain and a mascot through the plan, and the auction reveal became the payoff instead of the pitch. Written and storyboarded by Swimm, signed off by all four partners before a camera came out.
02
Direction and production in one window
Directed and shot by Swimm on location at Honda Center: the Ducks team store, the locker room and the plaza. A small crew, a shot list built around the captain’s availability, and a kid kept having fun on camera because the day was planned so she never had to wait.
03
The edit: a sixty-second film built for Reels
Cut vertical first, paced for the feed, with the auction dates and prizes landing on screen where they could not be missed. The confetti beat in the locker room and the statue scene outside were shot knowing exactly where they would sit in the cut.
04
Launched as a collaboration, not a single post
Visit Anaheim published the film as a collaborative post with the Anaheim Ducks, the Anaheim Ducks Foundation and Radko Gudas, so it appeared on every partner’s feed at once. Gudas then posted it again on his own account. Two posts, one film, more than 456,000 views.

What came next.
The auction ran its five days with proceeds to the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, giving local kids a chance to play hockey. Visit Anaheim called the process seamless from start to finish and said they would definitely work with us again.
